My staff and I were able to successfully webcast a skype 5 way conference. This opens up possibilities in terms of education, conferencing, and corporate training.

What we did essentially was to route one skype connection over to our windows media encoding machine and broadcast it out via Microsoft windows Media Server. The effect would be to open up the Skype conference call to thousands of passive listeners that will be able to ‘participate’ in the discussion/conference.

I like Skype because the voice quality is clear and it is encrypted.

Arggh!!! Just found out Skype has a new conferencing feature that allows up to 100 people to join! Its called skypecast!
