Cellphones can crack RFID
Posted on February 16th, 2006 by humancamcorder
Just got floored when i read this securityfocus.com article that cellphones can be used to crack RFID tags.
Shamir suggests that market pressure by vendors to bring down the cost of RFID tags has resulted in them eliminating many of the security features available in the tags.
RFID tags are becoming more and more commonplace as vendors embed them in everything from jeans to passports and paper money – however, privacy and security issues for the tags remain widespread.
Hmmm….how can we use this ‘dark’ knowledge? At NLEX express lane?? At Mark’s and Spencer? How else can this be tested?
