SEO case: Internet Credit Card Keyword
Clients usually come to us with a keyword or keyword combination in mind that they want their website or webpage to rank high on google , yahoo or msn search. Ninety (90%) percent of the times, I usually find that our keyword research shows that the initial keyword/keyword combinations are not the most optimal.
Why? Because their initial keyword combination would not attract the highest relevant search traffic! Take the case of “Internet Credit Card”. This keyword combination now shows the highest traffic search term, but if you look closely at the trends, this keyword combination is actually dropping! So overtime, what we see as actually going up in terms of total searches is for the following keywords: “Internet money order”, “internet money transfer”, “Internet Money Transfers” and “Internet Wire Transfers”. The client is best advised to consider these terms as well.
Clearly, any SEO worth his salt has the obligation to advise their clients to revise the keyword targets. Further research suggests also that a google adword campaign on “Internet credit card” keyword will cost somewhere in the vicinity of 15 USD for top position, while “Internet money transfer” and “Internet money transfers” will cost somewhere between 3 to 4 USD to promote. Clearly, the client can benefit from placing google adwords for the alternative keywords in the first 30 days while waiting for organic search engineering to take effect.
On the topic of Instant Internet Remittances using Credit Card, the keyword “credit financial services” is a broad term that brings in more search traffic, but this search term may not be relevant. What we think is more relevant (ie more interesting to the searcher) is “credit card online” or “online payment” will bring in more relevant search traffic.
