Quo Vadis:Help Desks?

This article got me to think. If help desk is so needed, how come most companies dont offer it?

PEW research center found that 48% of adults had no idea how to setup their home computers and cellphones. They had to ask someone else, presumably a pre-teen, to show them how to use it.

Also, 40% of adults confirmed that their computer broke once in the last year and 44% had internet connection problems. Most omnious-15% of those with problems were not able to fix their devices and solved the poblem by giving up or NOT EVEN trying!
