Podcast Transcription

I was able to browse and read the adverse reactions to podcast transcription from Cameron’s Brain. I have a couple of points to raise about it:

1. Doing a [tag-tec]podcast transcription[/tag-tec] will capture into text the whole conversation in the podcast. This feeds google, msn , yahoo and all the other search engines with content to index. This makes for more indexable content.

When that happens, the entire podcast is now known to the search engines. Things like people, events, places, ‘phrases uttered’ will now be searchable. This in turn leads to more traffic being referred to the podcast from people searching for particular keywords that are captured in the podcast transcription.

Unlike “shownotes’ that by its summarized nature, will not be able to fully capture the entire conversation, the podcast transcription will. So podcast transcription companies will still have a valid niche in the online community.

2. Doing a podcast transcription will then open the podcast to a whole lot of new audiences. aka. the deaf, and even other languages. Take note, that once the podcast is transcribed into english, wordpress blogs that have the translation plugins will then be able to convert it to other languages such as french, spanish, german, chinese and japanese….making the podcast more widely available to a whole new segment of the population.

So in summary, a podcast transcription enables more users to find the podcast.
