iDA visit

I had the opportunity to be invited and to visit the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore last week. I was met by Mr Badrul Hisham BMN, the manager for the competition and Market Access.

Their building was right on Suntec Tower 3. I had to take the MRT and take the underground path from there to go to Tower 3.It was a nice leisurely walk along the various stores in the Suntec Mall. Mr Hisham was an impressive example of what good governance is. Not only did he brief me on the legal licensing requirements of my planned venture in Singapore, he also gave several options for us to take.

If i were a singaporean citizen, I would fully endorse the giving of higher pay to such government officials. There are ongoing debates right now in Singapore as to whether or not government ministers should be given higher pay.

However, some Singaporeans are against it. Mr Brown is also against it. I think they have not been to other countries, so they don’t know a good thing when they see one. Come to think of it. Would the Philippine Citizenry also vote for increased pay, if it would mean less corruption? And more progress?
