Blogging Made a Difference in Malaysian Election

Singapore’s Today Newspaper published an article that Malaysian PM Abdullah admits underestimating the Internet. The Malaysian opposition meanwhile made full use of it, with one Opposition candidate, 67 year old DAP chairman Lim Kit Siang updating 3 blogs with multiple posts daily.

This allowed the opposition to reach out to the young urban and educated people, mnay were voting for the first time!. Mr Lim won the parliamentary seat in Ipoh Timor.

I wonder how the next philippine election will be affected by blogs as well? I heard some of the best bloggers in the Philippines are already being tapped by both the ruling party, and by the philippine opposition as well. Will the next philippine elections become a battle for the best bloggers in town as well?
