Office Communications Server 2007 MCU fails to start

Guys, has anyone encountered this problem with Office Communications Server 2007, Standard edition? I installed it on a windows 2003 sp2 server. I followed the steps outlined by Ron Barrett’s book “How to Cheat at Administering Office Communications Server 2007”.
