Google Analytics Wishlist

Ive been using google’s free tool : [tag-tec]Google Analytics [/tag-tec] for quite some time now. I love the idea of being able to share the analytics reports with other parties via email. Id love it even more, if google were to have a feature to allow a code snippet to be embedded into a target webpage that would show details of the analytics results.

For example, wouldnt it be neat to see a small thumbnail of traffic? Then when the user clicks on it, he would see whatever the site owner wanted to show (traffic, visitors, keywords, top referrers, top content etc…)

  1. Wilson –

I share your perspective on Analytics. Would like your thoughts on my new Analytics service on http://AnalyticsWizard.com.

Per your suggestion, I have an optional daily report distribution that may be shared and forwarded.

With regards to the thumbnail — this is an easily-implemented solution. Perhaps you can share some additional functionality for it so that I can implement it as part of my service.

You can contact me by checking the about page on my site.

  2. Wow! a visit from Gene Kavner! I am honored!

Well Gene, for the thumbnail, id like it to “show off” the stats….like alexa’s traffic ranking…for example, It could show that this is the top x of the sites that are listed on your analyticswizard.com…or some summary like “xx number of sites link to me”, or “top pages on this site”

As to the sample reports on your site, i would like to see more info on the stats page, rather than have to click on links further in….

Maybe, you could have 2 interfaces, one for “simple” that is great for newbies, and one for “advance” users that shows all the graphs, stats, etc in one page. Sort of like an executive summary.

But again, my comments could be biased by experience, as I am accustomed to google analytics reporting…and its cool graphs, and datamining interfaces.
